About Peoria:

 

Located midway between Chicago and St. Louis along the Illinois River, the greater Peoria metropolitan area has a population of over 375,000 and nearly 1 million people living within a 60-mile radius.

In 2013, Peoria was named an All-American City. In May 2012, the Greater Peoria area ranked 11th among medium-sized cities for “Best Cities for Job Growth" and Forbes Magazine ranked Peoria No. 67 among the top 200 cities nationwide in job growth and 71st among “best places for business and careers.” Central Illinois also enjoys a low cost of living, more than 12 percent below the national average.

Peoria has one of the largest park districts in Illinois with numerous public golf courses, an indoor skating rink and access to dozens of miles of walking/biking paths.
