Research:

Residents have vast opportunities for research within our subspecialties whom all have extensive clinical research trials that are supported by public and private grants, as well as INI Foundation Research funds. Our faculty members assist residents in selection, design, implementation, and preparation of projects for publication or presentation. Additionally, our institution also provides first year residents with a 12-lecture course series in Evidence-Based Medicine, which is designed to provide residents with a fundamental overview of the basics of clinical research, including how to design and power a study and how to create a poster presentation.

Most of our residents are currently involved in research projects and have presented at National meetings for which University of Illinois College of Medicine allows a $1500 annual travel stipend to attend.
